Alumni

CSPP Alumni Database

The CSPP alumni database is currently a work in progress. A new and improved version should be available soon.

Log In

Log in with your CS username and graduation year (current students should use “CURR” as their graduation year). Click the “Go.” button.

Your CS username is the first part of your CS e-mail address (USERNAME@cs.uchicago.edu). If you have forgotten your CS username, contact techstaff@cs.uchicago.edu.

From the main page, you can view your page and look up fellow classmates by graduation year or by name. To look up present CSPP students, enter “Current” for the graduation year.

Modify Your Page

Go to your page and click on the button to make changes. You will be asked to log in again, this time with a password. If this is your first visit to the site, you will not have a password. Click on the “if you don’t have a password” button. A temporary password will be mailed to your cs account. If you have any problems accessing your CS account, contact techstaff@cs.uchicago.edu.

Once you have the temporary password, you will be able to set a new password and login. While logged in, an “Edit” button will be displayed in the right-hand corner of your page. On the edit page, you will find all sorts of fields where you can provide as much or as little information as you want. The most important field that you should take notice of is the Permissions field.

Permissions

Permissions allows you to choose who can view your information. You may choose:

  • None: no one except you and the database administrator can view your information;
  • Alumni: only graduates of the CSPP program can view your information; or
  • All: both current students and alumni can view your information.

    (“All” does NOT mean everyone on the web, just CSPP people!) This means if you want your fellow classmates to have access to your page, you must choose “all”. The default choice is “alumni.”

Upon graduation, your page will be moved to the corresponding “Class of” page. What’s most important about this is that it provides forwarding services. Once you no longer have access to your CS account, you’ll be able to forward your cs email to the account you specify in the database.
