Patrick Armand (CSPP ‘04)

Patrick is Director of Information Security at PepsiAmericas, Inc. Patrick is responsible for developing and implementing PepsiAmericas’ corporate information security strategy, policies and standards, and oversees network and application security. Prior to that, Patrick was Vice President of Information Security at MidAmerica Bank, the second largest Chicago-based bank. At MidAmerica Bank, Patrick managed the Information Security group, devised and implemented an enterprise role-based access management program along with multi-factor authentication for Internet Banking. His prior experience also includes working as the Online Products Program Manager at a top 5 U.S. financial institution, and working as an Audit Manager where he recommended systems and financial internal control enhancements. In addition to his Masters in Computer Science degree, Patrick is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois-Chicago.

Michelle Dennison (CSPP ‘04)

Michelle is an attorney with Audrey Gaynor & Associates, P.C. Previously, Michelle served for seven years as an Associate Director of the CSPP. Along with her Masters in Computer Science, Michelle received her B.S. from Northwestern University and her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law.

John Falck (CSPP ‘05)

John is a founding partner and Chief Operating Officer of XO Capital Group, a Chicago headquartered algorithmic trading firm. Previously John has worked in business and technology management positions at Chicago Mercantile Exchange, UBS, Swiss Bank Corporation and O’Connor & Associates. In addition to his masters in computer science from the University of Chicago, John has a masters from London Business School and an engineering degree from Northwestern University.

Matt Maloney (CSPP ‘00)

Matt went to work for Classified Ventures as Application Development Manager of Apartments.com after his graduation from the CSPP. After 6 years at Classified Ventures, he left to found Grubhub.com, a website that shows users all of the restaurants that deliver to them. Grubhub has undergone significant growth and recently expanded from Chicago into New York City and San Francisco. Matt is completing his MBA at the University of Chicago GSB and in the Spring of ‘06 won the University of Chicago GSB New Venture Challenge.

Debby Quock (CSPP ‘06)

Debby has a broad background as a chemical engineer in the oil processing and oil and gas exploration industry, and in the environmental hazardous waste treatment industry. Currently, Debby works in the Controls Group at Argonne National Laboratory’s Advanced Photon Source accelerator as a “Jill of all Trades” controls engineer/computer scientist. Debby initiated and organized Argonne National Laboratory’s annual student outreach event Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day that brings in middle-school aged girls for a day of job shadowing and hands-on engineering and science demonstrations. Debby has a B.S. Chemical Engineering degree from University of Missouri—Columbia; a M.S. Chemical Engineering degree from Rice University, Houston, Texas; and a M.S. Computer Science degree from University of Chicago. Her hobbies include world literature reading, tennis, gardening and cooking.

Doug Scheftner (CSPP ‘04)

Doug is a Senior Scientific Developer with the White Lab in the Department of Human Genetics and the Institute of Genomics and Systems Biology. His areas of interest include bioinformatics and high performance computing. Doug’s prior experience was as a Scientific Developer with the Computation Institute at the University of Chicago. In addition to his M. S. in Computer Science from the University of Chicago, Doug has a B.A. in chemistry from Kenyon College, and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Loyola University Chicago.

Tom Traficano (CSPP ‘02)

Tom is the founder of CCC Brands, a Chicago-based food products company. Previously, Tom held business development positions with GE Capital and The CIT Group. In addition to his advanced degree from the University of Chicago, Tom is a graduate of the United States Military Academy. Upon graduating from West Point, Tom served in the Army Intelligence Corps in Europe.

Ken Tsang (CSPP ‘03)

Ken is a manager at McMaster-Carr Supply Company, where he has led teams in various operations and project management roles. Previously, he was a technical consultant at Forsythe Solutions Group. Before earning his master’s degree in computer science from the University of Chicago, Ken received his bachelor’s degree in history from Harvard University.
