The MPCS is excited to announce that effective July 1, 2025, Professor John Reppy will be assuming the role of Director of the MPCS. John brings an extraordinary background in computer science and a deep commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and student success. We look forward to this new chapter and the continued growth and impact of the MPCS under his leadership!
Prof. Reppy was a researcher at Bell Laboratories for ten years prior to joining the Computer Science department at the University of Chicago in 2002. His research area is Programming Languages, with a focus on the design and implementation of advanced languages that help enhance software reliability and improve programmer productivity. His current research focuses on the application of higher-order flow analysis to optimization in compilers for higher-order languages.
