Funding Your Graduate Education
Paying for the Program
Most students in the MPCS self-fund their graduate education through a combination of personal savings, employer tuition benefits, and federal or private loans. While we offer a limited number of merit-based scholarships, applicants should plan to take primary financial responsibility for the cost of the program.
Scholarships
All applicants—including international and part-time students—are automatically considered for merit-based scholarships. No separate application is required. These awards are limited and granted at the time of admission. To receive the best consideration for scholarships, we encourage you to apply early.
Employer Tuition Benefits
If your employer offers tuition assistance, the University Bursar provides helpful resources and guidance. Visit the Employer Tuition Assistance page for more information.
Other Aid
Exploring funding options is a crucial step in planning your graduate education. For detailed information on financial aid opportunities at the University of Chicago—available to both domestic and international students—please visit our Graduate Funding and Aid webpage.
