"Entrepreneur Seeking Higher Education to Build His Own Business"
Chad got his undergraduate degree in Finance and worked for 10 years in the financial industry. He had fantastic experience as an investment analyst and high-frequency trading, including some technical, some non-technical project work. He then moved on to web development.
DECIDING ON A MASTERS DEGREE
Pursuing a graduate degree was a goal he had had for a long time to broaden his skillset and improve his depth of knowledge. He was also looking to transition out of the finance industry.
DECIDING ON THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO
Chad chose the University of Chicago for its flexible programming and academic reputation.
AFTER THE MASTERS PROGRAM
Chad is currently a web developer at M Interactive and has been able to focus more on niche areas since starting his graduate degree, allowing him to move away from solely front-end design. He believes this will be a vital skill for his future in terms of marketing himself and his business.
“Take one class per quarter and take your time going through the program. It's a lot to absorb, so you often face the tradeoff of "learning it to get a grade" or "learning it to learn it" when in a time crunch.”
