The workshop will consist of both presentation and interactive exercises, with opportunity for hands-on assistance. The topics we will cover are:
- Navigating the filesystem
- File permissions
- Process management
- Bash shell configuration and scripting
- Remote authentication
- Language-specific configurations for C/C++, Python, and Java
The UNIX Bootcamp will be taught by Ron Rahaman.
There is a $25 administrative fee, no other tuition cost will be charged. The administrative fee must be paid when you register.
To register for the UNIX Bootcamp, please go to the eventbrite event page.
This event is open to all invitees regardless of vaccination status and, because of ongoing health risks to the unvaccinated, those who are unvaccinated are expected to adopt the risk mitigation measures advised by public health officials (masking and social distancing, etc.) Public convening may not be safe for all and carries a risk for contracting COVID-19, particularly for those unvaccinated. Participants will not know the vaccination status of others, including venue staff, and should follow appropriate risk mitigation measures.
Online materials will be made available for those who cannot attend in-person. More information will be announced in the coming weeks.
