MS in Computer Science Part-Time

Part-time applications can be submitted at any time before the final deadline for your intended start quarter. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Decisions are released 2-4 weeks after all required materials have been received.
Part-time study is available for US Citizens, Permanent Residents and those working in the US on H1B visas. Student visa sponsorship is not available for Part-Time students. If you do not require a student visa to study, but are not in one of the categories listed above, please contact us to determine your eligibility. Applications to the part-time program will be considered after published deadlines if space is available.
The part-time Masters Program in Computer Science offers working professionals the opportunity to pursue a professionally-oriented computer science education that combines the foundations of computer science and applied technical coursework. This program allows the flexibility to complete the program, and enhance your technology skillset, at your own pace. Part-time students at the University of Chicago can take 1 to 2 classes per quarter, with most students completing the 9-Course Program in 18 months to 2 years. Evening classes are available for part-time students.

Students without a background in programming and/or Discrete Math should plan to start the program with one or both of our Immersion Classes. Immersion classes are available to any admitted MPCS student.
